In 2006 I made a sombre visit to the former concentration camp at Dachau (near Munich in Southern Germany). At least 25,000 people (many of them political prisoners) lost their lives in this camp during World War II.
I cannot even begin to adequately describe the sadness that still exists in this place. The image of this cold, dark corridor represents the sadness and despair that still so painfully hangs in the air of what remains at Dachau today.
Wow, the image really touches me and reminds of my visit to Buchenwald last year… It has the same feel to it… I think it’s good to visit these places… And always remember. Makes you speechless.
