I shall tell you something, and you shall not get upset, because it’s very well intended. You see in the middle there, where the wee bush is sticking up? See where the line of the land and shadow intersect the stick. Well, I had the window positioned so that I could see all of the top of this image, down to around the middle of that stick ((aka bush) – like, right after the land/shadow intersects it.
    And it looked phenomenal.

Now, see the bright bit in the sky to the right? The really bright bit down closest to the .. uhm .. mountain? Right now the browser window is sitting so that the picture shows from just above that bright spot, so that a little of the brightness leading to the left is also showing, down to the bottom.. It looks wonderful.

They would both probably be good options for cropping, if cropping were the sort of thing you’d like to do.

Love the colors and contrasts in this piece.

lol I didn’t mean it would work better .. just, that they would also work. I have known photographers so spent a lot of time agonizing over such things, includiing recropping older works to give them new life.

Please don’t think it was about making it better .. it’s beautiful.

  • Keiran Lusk replied

Lol… thanks Arletta. Oh, I wasn’t bothered by your thoughts at all. I always welcome suggestions and ideas. I just really liked the wide expanse of deep red dirt at the bottom of the picture. Thanks again for your wonderful feedback and ongoing encouragement :-)

Great work Keiran. This image reminds me of the heat and cutting clean air at Uluru.

  • Keiran Lusk replied

Thanks Kustomz for your words. Oh, yes… the heat and clean air. Summer is well and truly on its way here in the desert :-)

  • Arletta

    Arletta

hmm .. yes .. well, I’m glad you weren’t bothered. I just read something about how constructive criticism is a big no no on Red Bubble. It never occured to me that such a thing would be wrong. So, sorry! But, one of the crops I mentioned does leave the big expanse of red dirt. One is more sky, less dirt; the other is more dirt, less sky. Neither would be better or worse than each other or what you have now, in my opinion; just, a different way to enjoy. And now I shall refrain.
