A drunken stroll
drunk lonely and observing.
The cold steel breeze wraped the autom leafes
falling from the timed trees
velvet blackness kisses the dwellings
i stagger from cheap lager with a cig in my mouth
spirits impound the loud mouth louts
the ever running rivers soundings cold drownings
glistening with the ears listening
age old paths age old direction
time tested old buildings lasting
couples imbraced in time old clench
the moonshine man homeless on the park bench
but i walk with my walkman and listen to heavy music
and walk past raving cars with thumping strife
all the way pondering life and its sometimes cruel prosession
but the drink will keep me going on slight
even if i have reached the sharp edge of the cold night
i could be lossing lifes battle with alcohol and such
i look on coldly at the couples with so much
mostly and solemly i cant touch
im staggering like a one legged man with a crutch
but il contiue to roll while im on my drunken stroll.

you write “life”....so well, and have captured a sense of longing, yet distance from it here…..

thank you,it was just one of them lonley nights when you feel like well really alone, but times like that are few and far between thank God….but they make you write from your heart and soul, again thank you wendy.

Powerful description of a nation’s pass time.. “i could be lossing lifes battle with alcohol ”, so many others have had to make this battle but I think you need to channel it to your creative side to keep from loosing it. .
