Suria KLCC

From Prada to Calvin Klein to Armani to Gucci to Louis Vuitton…its the ultimate shopping destination. All you need is money.

Another shot of the Petronas Twin Towers, from the KLCC fountainyard. I wished I had more money. Not to buy any of the above mind you, but rather to fund my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L USM IS dream lens thank you :D

Keegan – very well done. Fantastic POV and the way you framed it. You used a very high ISO. How did you prevent the noise. This image is crystal clear. BTW I am going to KL in May – any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

  • Keegan Wong replied

Kuala Lumpur is an awesome place, it’s my hometown and I’ll just KNOW you’ll love it there…especially when the currency rate is x3 (or has it gone up more since i went there end of last yr? – not sure)

Anyway, KL is best shot at night. I stayed right in the heart of KL (a place called Bukit Bintang – the golden triangle they call it) and its great. At the moment I was told that KL is really wet and rainy due to Monsoon, but I believe during May it should clear though. Believe it or not, this shot was done during a clearing storm..just a few mins later in fact. If you take shots when it rains you will make use of the clouds present, and the light reflection of the Petronas Towers is magnificient.

Also take shots of the busy streets and markets of KL, its really an eye opener. and you will love the food :)

I have no idea why at ISO1600 the noise was so low. I was using my 350D at that time with a broken tripod and still managed to achieve a good quality shot. I think it was partly because of the fact that it was a long exposure which masked some of the graininess and the slight overexposure on the buliding too. I also did edit the blue dark sky though, by placing a filter across the sky and doing some accentuations around the building.

I hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday all in all. Visit the Petronas Towers, Merdeka Square, Genting Highlands and maybe Cameron Highlands if you can. These are excellent tourism places for landscape/urban shooting. And don’t be afraid to ask…people there are friendly :)
