The Petronas Towers

The Petronas Towers

The Petronas Twin Towers.

HDR mode. No matter what angle, what lens, what camera body you use to capture this magnificent building, you will never capture its sheer size and beauty. This was a see-it-to-believe-it moment for me.

Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm, 77mm Keep polariser, Manfrotto Tripod, and Canon remote shutter release and HDR. Exit: f/22 @ ISO 100, for 22 seconds with +2 bracket exposures.

  • Cvail73

    Cvail73

    I love your portfoliio! :)
Hopefully, I’ll give my own go to this building in about a month, I don’t have a very wide angle so we’ll see what comes out of it, exciting prospect anyway :)

  • Keegan Wong replied

Thanks Christelle…I really do appreciate your kind words there mate =)

Be sure to take this from every angle possible…that includes from the sidestreets far away from the actual building itself!

Another thing I regretted NOT doing is taking a shot from the front. This shot was taken from the back of the building (the front of the building has two large lumps at the base). There should be an entrance fountain at the front. If you do well, you won’t need a wide angle lens to capture half of this building’s magnificient beauty. It really is an eye opener to the architecture world.

You have some awesome portraits in your gallery too. Keep it up mate.

  • Cvail73

    Cvail73

Thanks so much for such great advice, I will try to be worthy of them :) I find architecture more difficult than portrait of photojournalism probably because of the size issue… It will be my only chance to take the building in the forseable future so I’d better make it good! :)
    Cheers mate :))

Great shot Keegan. Watched them build this on the discovery channel and was amazed that as they were putting the walkway in between the two buildings, it still had nearly a metre to go before they were connected, the architect jumped from the walkway to other building!!

  • Keegan Wong replied

Gosh I wouldn’t dare do that! Awfully high, and you don’t want to trip for sure haha. I’ve gotta watch it sometime. Thanks for dropping by!

Amazing capture Keegan. I wonder how much power it takes to keep that sucker lit up like that.

  • Keegan Wong replied

Yes..the same thing crossed my mind when i actually saw the building for myself. It was literally glowing. think about the carbon emissions haha. But they now turn it off at 12 midnight to save energy…i guess thats an improvement :) thanks for dropping by mate, appreciate it lots.
