I know how tough this is and I have seen first hand what antifreeze can do to animals. It is always sad to lose a pet. I still miss my dog and little boy Alex everyday.

Pets better go to heaven, because if they don’t, I don’t want to go.

Awww….....so sorry Kellie, I’ve lost so many pets and each and every one of them was hard, I still miss them. But, all pets do go to heaven.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge,
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here.
That pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.There is plenty of food,water and sunshine,and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor,those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again.just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing they each miss someone very special to them,who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.His bright eyes are intent, his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster,
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

so i just cried reading about Levi. I’m so sorry dear. My heart to you and the family as pets are so important and very special to the heart. When I was 5 I had a pup that was poisoned and it is a very hard thing to deal with. I still remember him in my arms that day. :( miss you!

Aw sweety I am SO sorry. It is so hard to lose a friend like that and particularly when you have such a close bond with them. Animals give us such an unconditional love, like nothing else on earth and it is so hard to let them go, but Levi will always be in your heart babe. Oh Kellie…..what a sad story! It made damp eyed….(takes a lot to do that these days). It reminded me of the little black cat we got from the RSCA. He got feline enteritis and had to be put to sleep. My wife and eye were crying like babys. So sad!

I know how you are feeling about all f this, I did have it several times with my cats (& dogs) the pain is awefull when you come home with an empty box, but it will go away and it will make place for lovely memories of the two of you have, you know what they say….Gone forever, but for always in your heart…. :o)

Dear dear Kellie, I have big tears rolling down my face and my heart hurts. I KNOW how you must be feeling…..I truly understand. It is so difficult to say goodbye to our beautiful furry family members, they are such a part of who we are. This is a heartfelt and beautiful dedication to your beloved feline…... and the best comfort I can offer it to say your boy passed on knowing he was loved, and having known real love. It can’t get much better than that and you were the one who made it all possible. I am sure if he could speak, he would simply say, “thank you”.

Oh Kellie so sorry to hear about Levi! Truly pets become such dear members of our families. I presently have two cats and have had cats throughout my whole life! I too have heard about the dangers of anti-freeze but have never experienced it with one of my own! I have so enjoyed your shots of Levi, a character, that is for sure!!! This is a fine tribute and having spent the last few minutes of time with a favourite animal, I know it is not something you get over quickly, but I wish you and your family best wishes and the hope that all the good memories will sustain you in the future! Wow, I know how hard it is to lose an animal. We have had many throughout our lives, and have had to suffer their losses. I can see from the photos that he was well loved, and I am sure he knew that.

This is very sad!!! I love cats. People can be so careless about properly disposing of wastes such as anti freeze. I am so sorry for you. My condolences…Lynn

Jeeze Kellie… this did come up in my activity monitor but for some reason it passed me by. Fortunately Clarkey brought it to my attention just now…
I was in tears even before I finished. I picture you and I picture him and I picture you both together, two awesome souls apart… but together you created a story that all of us can feel through our own experiences with our pets. The endless adventure and comfort of having them by our sides, and the anguish of being separated from them.

My special guy was Luther. He was jet black and we named him after Martin. I`ve also had lots of cats in my time, but none of them had ever bonded with me like he did. Aloof like any confident, self-respecting feline… but the moments of connection between us were uncanny and I loved him unconditionally.
One day, while I was off on a business trip, he didn`t return home for dinner. It went on for a week and we feared the worst. Then halfway into the second week, my wife called and told me he`d come home… but he was very sick. Probably got locked in somebody`s garden shed and forgotten…

My wife nursed him slowly back to health and I joined in when I got home. I was so elated that our prayers had been answered and he was back in our family. But it wasn`t to last. A couple of months later he contracted a virus and pleurisy. The vet told us that putting him down was the only humane thing to do as he was in lots of pain, so I took him in and stayed with him as I promised him I would. However, something went wrong with the procedure and he wouldn`t go to sleep… started having convulsions and foaming at the mouth. It seemed like ages before he finally succumbed, obviously in great physical pain and emotional anguish. I cried my fuckin eyes out for the first time since I was a kid. I cursed the vet, but he said he`d used all the required doses and that some cats just resist as they seem to know what`s happening to them. Typical Luther. Did the same thing when we had him castrated as a kitten… he just wouldn`t go under the anaesthetic. Nobody was gonna take away his malehood without a FIGHT!!

That was many years ago, but I`m still not fully over it… neither the stress of what I experienced at his death, nor the amazing love I had for the little guy. Only wish I`d been more of a photographer back then… maybe that`s why I made up for the lack of cat pics in later years…

OK, I`m rambling… I would have BM`d you, but I thought this might find a place in other readers’ hearts as well so I decided to do it as a comment. Your picture is Amazing Kellie, like you… like Levi. Your story touched me deeply. I`m still wiping away the frikken tears. Thanks for being such a loving person.

So, so sorry Kiddo….I lost 3 cats, and one dog…I had a leak in my radiator, and had no idea….I thought someone had poisoned all my animals, and it turned out it was me…..I was horrified…..Now I’m almost paranoid about checking….I’ll be thinking of you..
