I always loved this image! It reminds me of that PBS advertisement where the composer is having difficulty writing his music, he looks out the window and sees birds sitting on the wires. He plays the tune they represent by their positions on the wires and creates an amazing piece of music. You created an amazing image!

Very amusing and superbly executed shot Kelly. The lighting on the pigeons is superb and the whispiness of the sky behind provides for a great backdrop. Pigeon football indeed, but it looks like one’s got the hump and is going home with the ball LOL

OK, now lemme give you my new take on this one I also commented on in another dimension… For me, the beauty of this is in it`s symmetric randomness. Your framing of the lines is perfect composition… like you`ve got your own rule of thirds going on. It doesn`t measure out the same, but it`s just as pleasing to the eye. But the most amazing thing is the perfect randomness of the birds. I don`t know even if you placed them on the lines in Photoshop, but whether you did or whether you didn`t is not an issue. It`s perfection, right down to the guy in flight. It would have been impossible to get a more engaging composition than this. And yeah, pidgeon foosball. Used to knock myself out playing that in every Brussels cafe we stumbled into over the years to the extent that seeing this actually brought it all back.

And to top it off, you even had the perfect sky in the background!
So kudos for blowing me away with this yet again. It SO rocks!!

the more i look at this the better it gets. the single flying bird is of course the icing on the very fine cake. the visual ratio created by the three wires is just perfect. the toning, contrast, etc are all excellent. really an award winning (or should be) photo.
