Thanks kellie – I am going to have to sit still for a while (how difficult!!) and go through this…should be extremely helpful. I’ve been interested in learning these things but never got around to it yet. Thanks again.

Sam Neal, about 1 month ago
it is so kind of you to share your advice so openly, i have asked many people a question here or there for reasons just out of curiousity or to expand more on the little i know so far but alot of the time i dont even get a reply. Its like there frightend you might start creating something simmilar or do something better! so its wonderful you have been so open about what you have been learning and doing to give all us other people more of an idea about things. Big thank you to you and i hope you get many more people after you to take shoots for them! sam
kcranmer in reply to Sam Neal’s comment, about 1 month ago
Hey Sam you bet and thank you so much!! I have never ignored a question…and always to the best of my ability answer in any way I can…sometimes even if they are long and drawn out… I make sure I can help, lol…anytime you have a question feel free to ask…and I’ve experienced the same as you (not getting a reply), but were all here to help each other so it’s my pleasure! hugs

Great stuff Kellie – I’m shooting my third wedding in a couple of weeks, and it’ll be my FIRST as the MAIN photographer…I’ve got the heebie jeebies already! LOL This is good information, and I feel encouraged after reading it. Like you said, it may be common sense, but we all need to be reminded of common sense sometimes. Great journal, love the photos! Good job!

You are a wonderful, wonderful person. Thank you so much for doing this. I got so much out of it, and I feel empowered to continue to press-on (i’ve got quite the steep learning curve ahead of me!). THANK-YOU! It’s so generous of you to do this.
kcranmer in reply to Mechellerene’s comment, about 1 month ago
Ooooh you bet and I’m so happy if it can help…even if it’s just a little!!!
kcranmer in reply to Ann Rodriquez’s comment, about 1 month ago
OMG wedding photography is like the mother of all hired photography to me, LOL…I haven’t done a wedding yet…and can go through the rest of my life never doing a wedding and being just fine with it, lol…but at the same time I would love to do it at least once…and I’m so happy the tutorial (although you know this stuff already) can help as a refresher…now go out there and have fun, woohoo!

Wish I had you around a few years ago but like you I have had to do the learning curve on my own

Awesome Kellie! I read it through and saved it. Thanks!

Kellie, I have done a number of weddings and they are all nerve racking. I found the best thing is. don’t spare the film. That is when photographers used film.
kcranmer in reply to Walter Colvin’s comment, about 1 month ago
Great advise Walter…(I am so happy to be away from film though, lol)
Scott Ruhs, about 1 month ago
Great info, Kellie! I always answer people’s technical questions if I have the answer. My approach to things like Photoshop are usually a stream of consciousness flying by the seat of my pants. I just experiment a lot and see what I come up with.

kcranmer in reply to elisab’s comment, about 1 month ago
Thank you elisab, I’m so happy it can help…it’s just a basic tutorial but a few of those tid bits I can even forget…I’ll cross my fingers for excellent weather at your wedding photoshoot (remember not to face the sun even if you have to tell everyone where to stand, lol)!!!

Bevsimages, about 1 month ago
Your hints & tips for me were just fab! so very simple & helpful…Think I really need to learn the layering stuff as many times my backgrounds arent so great! Will set aside some time to come back to this & try & soak up like a sponge…The best tip was sitting or crouching when photographing…I too try & get as low as possible, on the animals level or under people’s level for a better image…Great job, Thanks for sparing the time & sharing, much love x Bev x ;))
