Champagne and Gin
This shot, along with the other 3 that you can see, was taken in the Victorian Village inside Flambards, Helston, Cornwall, UK.
Regardless of the signs, they do allow photography in the Village, but without flash.
I changed my white balance to Tungsten and the ISO to 1600 which seemed to work well, should you ever visit there.
Sepia effect added in CS3.
I hope you like them.
Thanks for looking.

iso 1600 – wow, it’s surprisngly ‘ungrainy’ (If there is such a word). I can remember my gran eating Caledonian Oatcakes – there was never much Moet and Chandon about the place though!
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Dai, although it was a bit grainy if I tried to do close ups.

Use the settings as a guide, and there was a lot of noise if I done a close up, so bare that in mind if you are in a similar situation. x

Hey there Richards, Ahhhh Flambards, brings back great memories of when the kids were all young, and we’d be staying with in-laws in Redruth. Flambards was always a great day out, and the Victorian Village was always a real treat for the adults. Marvellous series of photos and thanks for the memories. Regards, Don.
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Don.
Something for everyone there.
rodsfotos
You handled the poor lighting admirably without flash and it has given such a pleasing glow to the tones, a wonderful nostalgic reminder of times gone by, excellent work Richard,
Regards, Rod.
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Rod, and now I know who to blame for the change in the weather. LOL
With this one, I added the sepia tones, as I think it suited it better than the original colour, but I am very pleased with the results of the others, which had only a little bit of adjustment, and very minimal ‘noise’ also.

Nice One Richard, pleased to see you’re batting for England in the Ashes Tests
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks David.
Yes, they done well. :-)
Kasia-D
Probably better result/effect that if you’d used the flash. Good historic shot!
Richard Veal replied
I added the sepia for the aged effect, but the original picked out the detail perfectly and the colour was as viewed by the eye.
Also, apart from flash photography being forbidden, if I had used a flash, it would have been far to bright.
dinghysailor1
brilliantly captured.. great grog! and love that old fashioned till..
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks #1.
Going back there again in October, so will get another couple, especially now I know how best to take the pics in low light without flash.
So, Stand Easy and carry on. Moves away saluting.
