Brilliant Richard; wonderful colours. Did you use a polariser.
Richard Veal replied
Thank you Andy, and no. I didnt.
I wonder how it would have turned out if I did ?
I always keep my lens hood on though, and my white balance is 99.9% of the time set to cloudy.
Whether all that helped I will never know.
brian pendrey
great work brill hdr
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Brian.
You have reminded me to add ‘This is not an hdr image’. :-))
AndyReeve
Well it seems to have picked its way thru the water in the foreground. Could it be that this area was in shadow? (= no reflections)
Richard Veal replied
As you know Andy, the water is crystal clear down there, and that was a slipway and quite shallow.
I suppose that is why it looks like I used a polariser. :-)

Iain Phillips
Nothing wrong with HDR I suppose – I’ve been playing around with it a little bit recently, with mixed results. BUT, isn’t it always more satisfying to get it right in camera, like this? This is beautiful. Best wishes, Iain
Richard Veal replied
To true Iain.
I am not against HDR, and I think that some pics do look better for it, but for the life of me, I cant understand why people pay £1k on a camera, and another £3-400 on a lens, then hdr a shot.
You could get the same results with a £50 special from tesco.
Thanks for the comment and the fave also.
Very much appreciated.

stunning light & reflections
True cornish light,
It is no surprise so many artists decamp to St Ives
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Mike.
Even though this is on the opposite coast, there is something very special about the light down there.
Luckily we are going there next Saturday for a week in Looe, back for a week, then off to the Lizard for a week.
