Explosion
It looks like the sea has exploded against the rock.
This is a scanned image of a picture taken in the late 70’s, at Lizard Point in Cornwall.
In all of my visits there since, I have never seen anything like this again.
Lizard Point is the most southerly part of mainland Britain, and the nearest main town is Helston.
Scanned Image.
Taken on 35mm film.
Olympus OM1N.
Seiko 50mm 1.8 (?) Lens.

I scanned this at 400 dpi, and my Garmish shot at 600dpi, so I could get a decent size picture to upload.

A fantastic capture Richard!! I went to St Ives in about ‘79 or maybe ‘80 and had gale force winds for a few days. The sea gets pretty rough on that corner of the country!!
