Tall Ship
Taken in Hamburg, Germany, in September (?) 1982.
I was actually going to Munich (Munchen), but managed to get tickets for England vs Denmark, in Copenhagen. A detour of approx 600 miles (1000 km)
It was a fun trip, and nice to see this lovely old Ship in the harbour.
It looks like a replica of an old galleon or pirate ship.
Hence the Jolly Roger flying from the mast.
Scanned Image.
Taken on 35mm film.
Olympus OM1N.
Seiko 50mm 1.8 (?) Lens.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for looking.

Simon Mears
i think we lost that game.. had to rely on our Trevor’s ‘shot in the stanchion’ goal in Budapest to qualify for Spain 82 World Cup. May be wrong. we lost to Norway too, when their commentator went berserk and started shouting about Lord Nelson. Which brings me to this picture.. the Elbe riverside is lovely and this old frigate thing, fantastic stuff!
Richard Veal replied
Many thanks Simon.
I remember the Lord Nelson thing. The game I saw was a European Championship game. It ended as a draw if I remember correctly, and got showered by broken glass by the Danes, who were smashing bottles against the wall right above the English fans.
Of course, it was the English fault.
shakey
