    Beautifully taken, Kim, and those colors are just sensational!

  • Thanks very much Kat!! All of the colors were just amazing… what a beautiful, vibrant event. Personally, I think it is a shame that their beautiful culture has been reduced to festivals and dance competitions… It seems like the generations keep the culture present in their lives, but the vibrancy is not a daily thing as they have been adapted into the larger, more modern, and less spiritual culture that surrounds them…

    Wow! This is a sensational image and the first thing that pops in my mind is, “What a treat to be there in person”. All that culture and celebration right there before you!! This is just beautiful! xx

  • Thanks so much Kristi!!! It was a real treat! I didn’t get any of the women dancing, so I will have to go back next year!! : }
    So glad you like it!! xxX ~Kim

    Terrific Kim – he really does look as if he’s having a great time. Great costume and colours. I agree with you about the loss of such a rich and spiritual culture. Maybe we should all take a mental step back in time. x

  • Thanks so much Jan – they really have a focus when they are doing these dances. And only because I was gently and politely corrected myself, I will tell you that their clothing is called “Regalia” – not costume.
    Funny about the stepping back in time… Katmagic and I were just sort of talking about that and she said she would go back…. with her ipad!! lolol ….not sure I could give up the ‘gagets’ either, but it sure was a simpler time, with a richer quality of life in my book…
    Anyway, look at me rambling! Thanks again!! xxX ~kim

    This is an excellent shot my friend. I love the vibrant colors and the feel. If only things were as simple and pure as they once were. I am all for technology evolving but the pure basics in human nature seem to be taking several steps back. The joy in simple things, the kindred spirits, helping one another, loving the land and one another, etc. That is something I wish was still going as strong as it once was. This looks like it would have been an amazing event to attend. I can hear the music in my mind. Congratulations on your feature. I bet you will have more! :) Hugs, Peechez

  • Thanks so much Peechez!! I agree with you 100%! It was an awesome day – a blessing to be allowed to view and photograph this wonderful cultural celebration! xxX
