Wild daisies along the side of the road – in the beautiful Midwestern United States.
Lake Elmo, Minnesota

Inspired by Lissy – I have pulled out my old “Prime” lenses… fixed focal lengths with wider apertures than zooms. Forgot how lovely they were, and I have gotten lazy with zooms and settled for not so shallow dof and not so sharp optics!!!

    so summery, I love daisies! and here they are so beautiful, your photo math makes me confused – you know I do it all intuitively, so I cannot see it unless I imagine it, lol…love that freedom feel here, and dof is fabulous! xxx

  • : } …I thought summery too, Angelika!! I love that you call it my “photo math”!!! It always does kind of sound that way when I post it on here, but the process itself is very intuitive. My muse likes to guide me at the processing end of image making as much as at the taking of the image. So I put the ‘math’ out there to guide others who may want to try it…
    I am so glad you like the end result!! It reminded me of the late1960’s – Peace, Love, and Flower Power!!! lol

    ..already faved this one, Kim…just soooo lovely and the natural bokeh is just deightful….beautifully taken…

    I use my primes and zoom lenses equally…generally, all zooms are not their best wide open but, if you stop down one or maybe two stops, you should get maximum sharpness..that’s where a non-noisey camera really steps up if you have to increase the iso…whatever you used here..the result is just a pleasure…another overnight post…ha ha…

  • Thanks so much for the reminder about stopping down slightly on the zooms – so much of what I ‘know’ about photography I learned many, many years ago (ugh!), and I need some refreshers!! The non-noisey camera thing I have to work on. I love my Fuji because it allows me to use my old manual lenses (although I have to work harder with them), but it does have limits around noise and highlight balance. If I move into a newer camera, I will lose the ability to use my older lenses… Always a compromise in photography! : }
    So glad you like this one… I have a large number of files from my outing this day, and I am happy with quite a number of them!!! More overnight posts to come!!! : }
