Hey Ma........Is That You Way Up There???? by

This young Great White Egret chick was scanning the skies for any sign of a parent returning with a meal. It’s expression just cracked me up. Photo taken at a Rookery in Socastee, South Carolina, USA.

That is such a stunning capture. Love the light shining through the feathers. It does look like it has been plugged into the electric socket. Love it.

..ditto what I aways say…what a fabulous photo of this little one and the expression is priceless as s/he looks for a returning parent..I remember last summer I stopped to watch a baby RWBB litterally have a melt-down when his mum left to get a snack and I felt so sorry for it…Your focus on this one’s face is excellent and must be viewed large…look at those eye-balls! Put out an extra blanket as I’m coming to visit!!

  • Thanks so much Kat for the wonderful comment. You sure would love the photo opportunities here in South Carolina. So glad you enjoyed this one. We have lots of flocks of RWBBirds here. They swarm my birds feeders and I have yet to get a photo of one. They are so beautiful, but so skiddish. All I do is quietly crack the sliding glass door to get my lens out there and they are gone. Thanks again Kat. Always much appreciated. :)
