Photo was taken at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, USA. We are so blessed to have these birds coming our way in summer for the last 8 years when the first sightening began.

Some biologist say that Spoonbills can tell us how well we’re doing with the environment when they show up. But I have seen them move and never return before to the same place. Consider yourself blessed. Wonderful shot!
Oh yes Franklin I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to even see them never mind photograph them. I guess we are doing good with the environment that they’ve been here over the last 8 years. There is so much land here that is left natural and for the sole purpose of saving our wildlife. Thank you so much for your very kind comment on my work. It is deeply appreciated. :)

Hello Kathy :-) choice action flight image, is that also its natural colour? beautiful capture
Thank you so much for your very kind comment on my work. It is deeply appreciated. Yes, this is the natural color of the spoonbill. The adults do get a deeper pink at the base of the wings and have black markings at the tips and on the back of the head. So glad you enjoyed the photo. :)
