This is the Mormon temple in L.A. I shot this around noon, converted it to grayscale, added texture and frame (thanks to Ghostbones for the frame), and then painstakingly added the text to look like old-time handwriting on an old photo.
A temple in the LDS Church (short for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—“Mormon” is a nickname) is a building dedicated to be a House of God (like the ancient temple in Israel) and is reserved for special ordinances (like eternal marriages and proxy baptisms for dead ancestors who never got the chance). A temple differs from a chapel (or church), which is used for weekly worship services. (Another Mormon Temple I shot earlier this year)
