One of Perth’s most photographed waterscape.
The best photographs tend to be those unplanned moments that don’t come along all to often, when mother nature and timing cross paths.
As Ansell Adam said: ””A good photograph is knowing where to stand”” but I think it is also knowing…when.
I think I was extremely luck to catch this moment, as I have seen hundreds of photos of this place, but I think I have captured the amazing symmetry that the nature hides most of the time.

You have captured an amazing photograph Brett. In photography we are taught never to place the ‘main interest’ in the centre but you have proven with this photo that rules should often be broken.

haha…thanks Peter. I was bloody lucky to catch this, the conditions on the day only held like this for about 2 hours. then the wind picked up. I’m yet to see the river this flat again. but i’m sure it will happen soon :)
