Reflecting on Flowers on the Water. by

Edited version of a photo by Gaz (with Sony Cybershot 4.1). I am in one of the boats.
It is a ceremony held at the end of the DragonsAbreast Dragonboat Races that were held as part of Chinese New Year at Darling Harbour, 2008.
The ceremony, with breast cancer survivors in the boats, includes a minute silence and reflects on those who have died of breast cancer. It was particularly poingant for me as my best friend from school had been in hospital during the previous ceremony and had since died.
Women who become involved in Dragonsabreast are challenging themselves to gain fitness, friends and live life to the fullest whilst acknowledging those who have lost the fight and increasing awareness to decrease how hard some women have to fight. It is one of the more than 50 ways to help fight breast cancer.

I am life time doodler, who has decided that it is time to see if anyone else likes my art. Here’s hoping!

I have had a go at writing, drawing, painting, graphic design, photography and digital creation & manipulation. Hope you enjoy my work. All encouragement appreciated.

I love helping RB newbies and sharing the hosting of a few groups.

    • Wonderful story and emotion here.
  • I think there is a lovely irony that you live in A city called Sydney in the country where Dragonsabreast started commenting on an event in Australia’s Sydney.
Appreciate the comment, I just hope this pic raises awareness so some women can survive. Thanks
