I thought this an itty bitty Bee
A native it be
of Australee
but a bee
it might not be.
He He
It might be a Hoverfly/Flowerfly that impersonates bees & wasps but Aussie it definitely is.
These bees/hoverflies have continued to survive in the face of invasion by bumble bees which are larger, more aggressive and swarming. Our tiny natives are mostly solitary and it is hard to see them as they are tiny and their wings are so transparent.
Photo taken with our Olympus1030 set on macro. I often shake this type of shot so I was grateful that this one was so clear.
Only cropped to improve centring.

Sorry, but you have been given the wrong information. This is nothing like a bee. The body structure is different, the wings are different, the eyes are different as are the antennae. I suggest you look up the differences on the internet. I am actually quite knowledgeable about both bees and hoverflies.

see changes to description, it looked like a bee to me & most descriptions said that they mimic bees & wasps
