This is a digital shot (Sony Cybershot 4.1) of a paper bark tree. I liked the marks on the tree (more than 50). They reminded me of tattoos on people’s limbs. So I thought maybe this is the tree showing us its tattoos.
Then I had another thought. What if these types of marks on the bark were the reason Australian “White” Colonialists used the bark to make a type of paper?
The photo has only been cropped.
Wonderful to be in the Natural Surface Textures, Bark Textures Challenge
Hope you find it interesting too.
