This work is inspired by arum lilies.
I see these lillies as a representation of purity.
I loaded this onto RB first as I consider it to be the best I have done so far. The fluidity of the lines and the colouration worked out so well. Others on RB seem to like it too.
I would like to thank the Works on Paper Group for Featuring it.
It is done with caligraphy and metallic brushpens on paper (110gsm Acid free Cartridge Paper). I use these brushpens as they allow free flowing strokes. They are like preloaded paintbrushes unfortunately they are no longer made in the gold and silver I have used here. For a person as messy as me they are a great solution. The different effects occur as the brushes work differently when they are fully loaded or running out or when they interact with the texture of the paper. Unfortunately they have stopped making them so I am hoarding the ones I have left.
I love flowers and they are often the inspiration for my work.
The original hangs in my hallway and is not currently for sale.

I love pens but as I am starting to have difficulty holding them for the long some of my drawings take so I am extending my ways of doing art.

I have used the pink arum version to make a border and it looked really good.

This is my favourite of ALL your works Kaz, it is absolutely stunning! I have been drawing and painting Arum Lilies since I was a child (we had them in our garden) and they will always be one of my favourite plants. This really resonates for me, it is truly gorgeous!

This is really beautiful work! Love the texture on the leaves with the green lines, it really makes the already interesting composition flow. What a lovely stencil it would make, for over a doorway beside a window!
