~ Innocence lost ~
This little girls mother was sitting on the pavement, just out of the frame. The girl stood there for ages just taking everything in. I guess this is her life and she may never know any different

Karen this is a great image, full of emotion, she looks so young, innocent and alone. I just want to reach out and give her a hug.
Karen Cook, 10 months ago
Thanks Craig! Her mother was actually sitting just out of the frame in the direction she is looking. She was adorable, but as you said, just looks so innocent and vulnerable.

Such a great photo… and there’s a great contrast in the subject as well, like the innocent child in a harsh world.

There is always a beautiful naiveness about young children…no matter how suffering they are…they just open their eyes wide…and stare…sometimes blank, sometimes full or happiness…sometimes full of pain…but naive and fragile… I think this photo is amazing and beautiful…even though her mother is close…she looks alone…and fearless.

This is a great shot. Perfectly framed, well composed and just the right amount of work to really bring out the feeling in the image. She looks, in my opinion, like she knows what’s happening, and has empathy for what she see’s.
