I actually spent some time with my extension tube and 50mm yesterday, but didn’t find anything so nice to photograph. Love your shallow depth of field work!
Karen Cook replied
I only have my 50mm lens to thank Mel ~ it’s brilliant!!
Steven de Siow
This is lovely.
Karen Cook replied
Thank you very much Steven!
Mel Brackstone
I always have to push the envelope and go shallower than the lenses will allow….lol! PRobably why I never get anything so beautiful! Oh well…..I might post some to show you…..see what you think
Karen Cook replied
Yeah please do Mel… Mine are really just experimentation ~ I tend to shoot without spending ages setting up a shot! I find that I always get the best results that way :o) I rarely move the aperture off f1.8!! I had to force myself to use some of my other lenses the other day, because I always forget they’re in the bag.
Mel Brackstone
I agree about not setting up, I just walk around looking for subjects and end up lying on the ground trying to get focus when I’m using the 50….but mostly I use my landscape lens :) It was a nice change to get out of landscape mode after 2 solid days of dawn shoots and star trails…
frozenfa

Karen Cook replied

hh this is so… wonderful Karen ! totally my style with that artistic feel it has (lovely bokeh and focus) and the warm color scheme. love it !!
Karen Cook replied
I think it is a little more ‘spontaneous’ than some of my others!! Cheers Aimelle!
Aimelle
I like results (movement and lines,...) we can get when it’s windy enough. and this is a perfect example of it for me. With wind, we have to be more spontaneous, don’t we? .
anyway, keep your wonderful spontaneity then :D
Karen Cook replied
Yes I tend to photograph in a spontaneous way and think I get the best results when I do that!! x
Steve Chapple
