How beautiful! Looks almost asian with the bare branches and the pale wash in the background. Composition is lovely too! Well done…was this taken at the botanical gardens??

  • Karen Cook replied

Thanks Annie. I was trying to achieve an Asian look, but it took me a while ‘til I was satisfied! I actually crept across to the house over the road this afternoon when I saw the light shining through its branches :o)

Just dreamy! Are they Quince? Beautiful work.

  • Karen Cook replied

No, I’m sure they’re not quince flowers. Winter is the only time it seems to flower ~ at all other times it’s just a nondescript bush covered in green leaves. I’ll have to try and find out what it is. Thanks for the lovely comment Janice!!

This is beautiful, Karen. It looks to me like it could be a japonica or of that family. My mum used to have one in the yard when I was a kid in Wagga, its flowers were similar though a tad brighter than yours. This is just stunning though.

  • Sue Wotton

    Sue Wotton
