This infant squirrel was carried in the mouth of a Golden Retriever for most of a morning. The owner saw “something” in his mouth, but didn’t check it out for hours. The baby was warm and cozy — and hungry by the time I picked her up. Good Dog. Good Squirrel. It was the second time it had happened in my squirrel rescue experience.I wrapped her in a tissue and I stuck her down my blouse for the ride home. I was a poor substitute for that sweet dog’ mouth, but we made it until she was set up on a heating pad.
