Spotted Quoll At Devil Sanctuary, Cradle Mountain, Tasmania,Australia. by

This spotted Quoll looks quite happy, snoozing in the sunlight at the Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary at Cradle Mountain, Tasmania. The sanctuary saves some Tasmanian Devils from the terrible facial tumour disease, which is ravaging the Devil population…..Taken with my Nikon Coolpix 5700.

I live in Tumut at the base of the Snowy Mountains in N.S.W. I travel to Tasmania quite often to photograph the wonderful landscapes and plant life, unique to this beautiful island state. Fungi, mosses and lichens are my particular interest. I hope that you enjoy looking at the results of my wonderful photographic journey!

  • Hi Traveller,Thanks for your kind comment. If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt from my many trips to Cradle mountain,it’s that the weather is just a matter of luck.Best Wishes,Kaysharp.

What a beautiful capture of this quoll. I love the patterns on this animal. I still can remember the first time I saw these, was in the wild, and thought by myself what is that. It was a funny experience ;o))

  • Hi Esther,It wasn;t too hard to take this shot,on a lovely clear day at the sanctuary.I’d love to see them in the wild but I enjoyed my visit and learnt a lot about the devils and quolls.Best Wishes,Kaksharp.
