I think I’m slowly becoming a morning person (it’s only taken 32 years, but hey gotta get there some day right)… Alarm went off at 4.30am got up looked at the sky saw that there were little breaks in the clouds so headed off to my favourite beach for the sunrise (which wasn’t disappointing at all).

With all the dreadful weather that Sydney has had over the last week or so, it has brought all of these beautiful rock platforms to the surface that otherwise would have been covered. I can’t believe how much sand has actually eroded away over this last week, it is quite spectacular actually.

This shot here was taken about an hour before sunrise. If you are viewing this I hope you like it as much as I do..

Location: Turimetta Beach, Northern Beaches, Sydney, Australia

Taken with a Canon EOS 60D, 18-55mm lens, with processing done in CS5

Technical Details: F3.5, ISO-100, camera set to Bulb for 45 seconds

Beautiful Sharon.. worth getting up for! I saw something similar about beach erosion on the news a few weeks ago.. further north i think.. maybe in Qld?

  • The erosion blew me away (also landed me on my backside when “sliding” down there)… Really glad that you like this one Tanya :o)

Hi Sharon! A beautiful shot Mate. Looking at your side shot I’m amazed at how much sand you’ve lost.

  • I know, it’s quite mind blowing, but the up side is the new rock platforms it’s unearthed…. Glad you like this one also Al, and thanx for the fave too :o)
