Another chilly start to an otherwise beautiful Sydney morning found me going to North Curl Curl (can’t wait for it to warm up a tad let me tell you)..

Huge swells this week due to the terrible weather that we’ve been having made for some pretty awesome images also.

This shot here is of Curl Curl beach and my first ever attempt at any sort of panoramic shot, so if you are viewing this I hope you like it (for my first attempt I think I did ok), but if you have any tips to share, please be my guest…

Location: North Curl Curl, Northern Beaches, Sydney Australia

Taken with a Canon EOS 60D, 18-55mm lens, processing done in CS5

You did good with the pano Sharon. I don’t like Sydney but you live in a beautiful part of it.

  • Oh I wish I lived around here, but I’m about 30-45 mins away, but well worth the drive I say…. Glad you like this one too Al :o)

Lovely light ,composition.. and cool early morning effort Sharon ! ! :-) If this is your first attempt at panorama then i know i will see some spectacular ones in the future. This captures that progressive light that moves across huge sweeps of scenery in early morning so quickly. Some of the secrets are in a steady camera, the constance of exposure and metering, sequence time of shots as you probably know, and practice !! All much harder to do than sounds ! Well done and i look forward to seeing more. :-)

  • Thanx so much Paula for first of all the great comment, but secondly and most importantly the advice… I used my tripod for this one, trying to keep it level (thinking of investing in a pano tripod maybe, will work with what I’ve got for now though) :o)
