Boys and their toys. You chose the right fruit though. The interesting thing about kiwi fruit is that they look totally unappetizing on the outside, but it’s a radically different story once they’re sliced.

  • Thanks Gary, they do look a bit fuzzy don’t they!

Very nice job Malcolm! The only suggestion I have would be to experiment with the light. The fruit itself is missing a little umpf on the camera side but I like the light you have coming from above because it really highlights the edges of the fruit and the bubbles. I haven’t tried this myself because I don’t have a macro lens but I think you probably need to add a light source at the front.

On a side note…I am so jealous that you’ve got that lens! How do you like it so far?

  • Thank you Sandra, I’ll keep the lighting in mind for the next experiment. I had one flash bouncing off the ceiling and another firing through a small soft box at the front.

Very happy with the lens and how sharp it is – it opens up a whole new world.
