This elegant and graceful duck visits the pond for only a few days every spring and fall while on his migration path and, this ‘spring’, he showed up earlier than usual …..making his appearance last week. The male’s trademark is, of course, the long tapering tail feathers which can easily be seen in flight and point skyward when the duck is dabbling for food. This guy was keeping company with dozens of Mallards but wandered off alone at one point …allowing me to get this pic!
