Why am I posting a photo of a butterfly in late December?….no answer… perhaps the dull, grim, grey, bleak weather has something to do with it…. Yesterday, we had a bit of sun and mild temps but, generally, it’s pretty dismal and gloomy in Toronto and now it’s raining …. Also, the dreaded task of annual photo archival has rolled around again and I came across this…Lastly, I like the Monarchs…so, I actually had three answers…

Spring images can be wonderful in winter, and this one definitely is! The arrangement of blossoms creates a beautiful flow behind the Monarch. I’m curious about your “annual photo archival” task and what’s involved.

  • Thank you, Celeste.. I sent you a email re archival…

A lovely summer memory, Kat. What a beautiful capture. The flower, if you’re interested, is Boneset. Quite a useful herb.
I went for a little wander round Cooper Marsh late yesterday morning – beautiful, but then the clouds rolled in. We’re looking at 15 to 20 cm of snow over the next 24 hours. Sigh.

  • Hey Mike, thanks for the name of the flower…. I appreciate it…. Yup, just raining and dull right now in Toronto… they say a bit of snow for tomorrow….

A beautiful image – any time of the year!! You have captured the delicate nature of this wonderful creature!! Weather in Minnesota is much like yours.. except no rain, but also no snow to speak of, and we broke a temp record yesterday 52 F -I have a feeling we will get hit with some serious snow in the next two months!! xx ~kim

  • Hi Kim, thanks so much…. we are not that mild but quite mild for this time of year… it rained/snowed this afternoon but now it’s just plain rain……it looked dark in mid-afternoon…thank you for the lovely comment and, I agree, I think when the snow comes it won’t be kidding around…unusual not to have had any by this time of year…
