Most of us enjoy nature yet, understandably, take it for granted. When you develop an interest in it and begin to learn about it you are then able to appreciate just how mysterious and amazing nature really is….. consider (for example) …… the long ‘3-generation’ migration journey of those delicate-winged Monarch butterflies, the timing and length of bird migration in general, the fierce spring territorial nature of those Red-winged Blackbirds, the mating for life of swans and, last but not least, the uncanny ability of young fledglings of all kinds to care for themselves at such a young age ..when facing a world full of predators. To me, nature’s beauty is equally as amazing and this Mute Swan likely had no idea, as he contentedly preened on an early sunny September morning, that he was providing those who stood and gazed in awe, with an amazing display of stunning beauty and color…. that incredible snow-white-plumaged wing span against the blue sky that blended so perfectly with the clear blue water.
