American Goldfinch (aka The Masked Bandit) by KatMagic Photography
These are such a favorite of mine..! – they nest late in summer to ensure there is a dependable source of thistles and dandelion seeds to feed their young. When the Red-winged Blackbirds have departed for their pre-migration molt and things are getting a bit quiet .. these Goldfinches arrive – not only smart and sensible but entertaining, sweet and friendly.

Oh oh oh these little guys are so cute! Excellent shot! So clear and well focused! I love seeing his tiny little claws grasping so firmly the stem of that flower. Wonderful shallow dof that gives a great perspective to your pov and his environment!
