The Wood Ducks arrived back at the local pond about a week ago (likely something they’re regretting given the cold and recent snow). Lots of couples pairing up and defending of territories take place right now. You can tell by the look on this guy’s face he’s not happy as he rushes towards another male Wood Duck .. and, believe me, it wasn’t to ask how the other guy’s day was going .. but to deliver a definite message to stay away from his mate! Lots of splashing and squeaking ensued.
