May also be called Balsam Apple, Prickly Cucumber and/or Wild Balsam Apple. It is a vine, which produces flowers in mid summer and then a cucumber-like fruit around late August. It can generally be found in open fields, especially in low lying fields where the ground is often damp but not wet (not marshlands or wetlands). Taken near sunset in a field close to home that runs along the Kennebecasis River near Bloomfield, New Brunswick, Canada, using my CASIO EXILIM H20G.

I never leave the front door without my camera. I can’t seem to put it down for long. Perhaps that makes me an addict rather than an enthusiast ~ sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. But, in any case, thank you very much for taking the time to browse through my collection. I hope you enjoy what you see! ~ Sincerely, Katie

    Delicate looking plant
