Climbing Nightshade is native to Europe and Asia but has naturalized in North America where it is considered a noxious weed in many places across the continent. It goes by many different names. You may know it as: Bittersweet, Bittersweet Nightshade, Bitter Nightshade, Blue Bindweed, Fellenwort, Felonwood, Poisonberry, Poisonflower, Scarlet Berry, Snakeberry, or Woody Nightshade! It blooms in mid summer and grows in wet or cool places such as near rivers, ponds, along the edge of woods and in damp fields. It produces red berries in late summer. Wickham, New Brunswick, Canada.
