Grazing pastures, and the fences that enclosed them, have been long abandoned in some areas of rural New Brunswick because dairy farming no longer provides a sustainable living for small town farmers. As a result, these farmers sold off their livestock and then their land. In many cases the land reverted back to its original state – wilderness. Now, while walking through the woods, it isn’t uncommon to stumble upon the remnants of a former bustling livelihood like this lone fence post in the middle of the brush.
