Lookinglass

Cool! That’s what I thought I had painted until I overheard an argument about whether it was really dancers on stage or a village being bombed (neither saw the landscape)

It occured to me that in this work, people seem to see something of themselves reflected (hence the name lookinglass) The dancer saw someone like herself on stage, the anti-nuclear activist saw a bomb, I find peace in the tranquility of the woods. Now that I’ve been told, I see the dancers but not the bomb. I was just curious what a more diverse group would find.

oh you’re most welcome and yes, what we think and how we feel reflects greatly on what we see. I’m a nature lover and I run and hike in our local forest down by the creeek all the time and I don’t know whether this reflects on what I see in your work but it just seemed so obvious to me. I also see fairies throughout the painting…...hehehehe….now don’t get me started on those ROFL!!!!
