LEES VALLEY – South Island New Zealand
I am sharing this image that my husband Wayne took many years ago that’s been scanned from a print.
In 1992 we had an incredible snow fall which left many sheep stranded in the high country and needed to be rescued.
In New Zealand it’s known as Snow Raking – combing the hills looking for stranded stock, freeing them and standing them up (when they lie down they get frozen in place), then stamping a track down to lower slopes where they can be fed.
Since we are in our autumn/winter season I’ve uploaded this for interest.
