my mayan ruins
On my Honeymoon we went to the Riviera Maya, and had a blast. At Tulume our tour guide told us to be careful and not buy from the vendors there as the quality was poor. Of course we ignored the warning and now have our own ruins in our backyard. I could not resist. I plan to make a series different sizes. This is 16×20 oil on board.

just noticed his distinctive profile – could his name be Pacal, a mayan deity ?? My son got a similar souvenir…...

You know I don’t remember but that sounds familiar. The main part was the face and below was a man and a turtle, but I don’t remember the significance. Sad huh!!

I love old artefacts from ancient civilisations and you have portrayed them brilliantly here.

Thank you I have a great model in my backyard, I was sad that it broke shortly after we got back! But I am thankful now, such an inspiration!

Thank you for the compliment! It is looking at its bottom end that no longer is attached, it would be no fun as ruins any other way!
