The long gone

I was singing in the shower
As I tend to do
And was wondering if I had the power
To change the world I knew
To see it from perspective of another time
A different point of view
I hear the Eternal Clock chime
And imagine a date long gone.

I gather my energy from strength obtained
From whence I do not know
But when the ice of the long-gone came,
I slept under the snow.
With heart so cold and mind ablaze
I went to find some glory
But all that corner had to offer was a cloudy haze,
I want to feel like nothingness
But don’t misunderstand
I like my body
I like my face
And I love your guiding hand

Floating is my aim, my guise
A consciousness regained
A time or place or emptiness
Replaced by familiar aims
So I delve into the past
To find from whence I came
And hope one day I’ll rest at last
From causing all the rain.

I think to think to think a lot
To move with graceful awe
To maintain a sense of living
Whilst creating a greater door
To open this I know will come
With patience, experience and love
But I just can’t help but wonder if
This came from something above.

I draw my weapon to this world
To come near me if you dare
I will conquer all this pain
Of that you must hear me swear
I’m going to see that other plain
Maybe not just now
But this time I have an aim
To help me live, believe and learn how.

The long gone
