my daughter’s school principal wrote this quote in our newsletter a couple of weeks ago and it has not left me for a minute since…
“isn’t it amazing how much can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit”…
right at this moment… i don’t now how I feel about this…
I tend to agree, but feel credit should be given where credit is due also…
In a community organisation this is definitely a strong sentiment…
but… in the art world… when we are taught to defend our rights and principals…
what does it mean?
I needed that!!! whew… what a day… feel like vomiting now…

I take the phrase to be “things can be achieved when we act as one group to achieve a common goal.” As a group, everyone receives the credit and it’s all equal. There is no “I” in “Team”.

It all depends on how you interpret the question. If you read the words as they are, the principal would be correct in saying that, because ultimately our main motive in getting things done should be in what we are to accomplish – and not just to receive accolades or awards. Credit should be given , but shouldn’t be sought.
