ARAKHNE A girl of Kolophon in Lydia (in Anatolia) who in her hubris dared challenge the weaving goddess Athena to a contest of skill. She lost, and as punishment for her sacriligeous boasts and offensive portrayal of the gods in her art was transformed into a spider.

(Hubris = Arrogance)

    Having been a weaver for years, I love this portrayal of arachne. Most weavers would consider this heaven. Lovely visual telling of the story.

    Do not challenge the gods…
    do not challenge the saints…
    do not challenge your projections…
    just do what we can….
    imitate…and let the strenght of the unknow forces….
    let your forgetting about yourself…
    and become…just what is…
    LIFE.
    Rosa….( seen your playing witgh goddesses….imitating their aims..their existing souls…
    woman´s essence….long time buried….profound roots…then. )
