Oval Beach in Saugatuck, Michigan (USA) is a favorite tourist destination receiving prestigious honors and ratings patronized by Chicagoans and the word is spreading from other parts of the country and internationally. This view of the old radio tower was used during WWII, but is now a reference point for the city of Saugatuck. Tourists and native born alike can climb this dune using a set of very tall stairs from the town’s side of this dune! Once reaching the top there is an amazing view of Lake Michigan looking westward and the town and marina looking east! Many have reveled in the joy of running down the big sand dune path which accesses Oval Beach.
