“The rocks we were climbing today were going to be quite a feat! We had started out before sunrise on our adventure this morning while the air was still cool. Once the sun is up we’ll have to find some shade to escape the inevitable heat. Then….I nearly stepped on him. A gorgeous lizard, cleverly camouflaged on the rocks in front of me” Featured in Abstract Natures’s Macro Art Group 23/6/2012 Canon Powershot S3 IS (1,820 views 13/8/2014)

Macro photograph taken from an Australian Paperbark tree. This was taken late in the afternoon, there had been some rain so the bark was quite wet. With the bark being so damp it seemed to enrich the colours somewhat. I adjusted the contrast a little as well which gives a painterly feel to the abstract. FOCAL LENGTH 6.0mm

This is fantastic! As soon as I saw the thumb nail image I saw a lizard and I just had to have a look! Then I saw the bigger picture and it was even better!

….And as I stopped my foot from coming down on this tiny creature, I paused for a while as the lizard took one last up up at me, possibly thinking ‘Phew…that was close. I’m off’ and he dashed off as fast as his 4 legs could carry him, safe from any more overhead threats, at least for now.
    Well seen Kathie.

Hmmm, another typo. That line should have read ‘last look up’. Sorry.
