Ice Cave
“The temperature was below freezing but the air seemed to have some warmth to it. It had been an exciting morning exploring the rocky ice caves in the far northern regions of the country. We were extremely excited when the first fossil was found in this area some months ago. It had taken some time to plan our expedition and then waiting for the right weather conditions. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until an hour ago when the first tremour hit us. We made our way back as quickly as possible to the cave entrance…...this could be dangerous and I didn’t want to take any unecessary risks. As we approached the cave entrance a huge tremour hit. Try running at your best with 12kg of equipment on your back, now that’s a challenge. There was an enormous loud rumble as we turned to see the entrance to our ice cave collapse….....”
Macro photograph taken from a rock. Late afternoon no direct sunlight on the subject, camera set on apperture priority!
