Our trek from the bottom of the canyon was strenuous enough, having to protect ourselves from the occasional shale fall raining down on us.
We reached the lip of the canyon around late evening, but still early enough to gaze back on the valley below, and to register in our memories, the stunning view that so nearly became our final resting place.
