Melaleuca Blooms
Thought I would share with you the flowers of the Melaleuca tree, or commonly know as the tea-tree. I also like to call it the Paperbark tree, which is where I capture a lot of my macro bark photos. I’ve been waiting for one to flower so I could share it with you. Macro shot to follow! We’ve had a lot of rain the past month and everything is green and we’ve had some early blooming with some of the native plants. The bee will give you an idea of the size of the small flowers!

Wonderful!!! This is what it looks like, I have often wondered. I use tea tree oil all the time in various remedies and have often wondered just exactly it came from, I used to get it from the Thursday Plantation, you probably know of them. It is fantastic stuff, marvellous for all kinds of ills. Thanks for the pic. hugs

Thanks Hilary, yes its a fabulous disinfectant the teatree oil. You can buy soap and toothpaste, lots of products available. I even read it kills tetanus, I always have some in the first-aid kit!

Hi Kathie,
All this time you show us pix of Melaleuca bark patterns, and then this…..this is beautiful, and since you mention it as being the source of tee tree oil, I’m sure a lot of people will relate to it more readily.
I’m also pleased that you included the bee, which shows not only scale, but also a touch of contrast amid the field of white.
Gorgeously seen and shot!!!
Kathie Nichols replied
Thanks lensman, not something I normally shoot but thought it would be of interest to everyone!

Wow, I too often wondered what they look like. This is beautiful … somehow reminds me of an Eucalyptus except that the blossoms are different. Wonderful capture!
