Crossing Paths

Taken at O’Hare airport in Chicago. I had a long lay-over on my way to my brother’s funeral…very sad day for me. I just plunked down on the floor and took lots of shots. I wasn’t in the mood to worry about public opinion…

Hi Dennis, thanks, it helped that I really didn’t care that I was just sitting there in the middle of everything that day.

thanks for the condolences, my brother never recovered from a motorcycle accident and was making process, but just checked out…when I was young, I actually pondered living in an airport for a few days or so, just to watch…I’m aware they made a movie like that recently…don’t remember the name. Anyway, I’ve always found airports extremely interesting, wondering, “What’s their story? Where are they going? Why so sad? Why so happy?” Well, you get it!

oh yeah, I get it. it is very interesting to sit in airports, train stations, or other busy places and just watch the crowds. I remember that movie but can’t remember what is was called. so sorry about the motorcycle accident, it can be very hard to recover from one of them… I can imagine though he loved riding as so many people do and would probably have done it again if he had survived. have a great weekend kate!!

Thanks for being so kind….glad you like the photo…a different subject matter for me, but it’s where I was and I needed to stay occupied to keep my emotions in check. It helped!

Hi Kate I am so sorry that you lost your brother. Such a tragedy makes me want to hug my 3 brothers very tightly and whisper ‘I love you” in each ear though most all of them dislike mushy, gushy stuff.
Love this photo that you produced in your grief. What struck me immediately , aside from the shafts of light, were the two (2!) exit signs. Talk about a message within a message. And it doesn’t escape notice that two men are going up while one is just arriving. Love the lighting, compo and reflections of this emotive photographic.
Just for today, be at peace,
    Sassi

    Hi Dear Sassi,
Thanks for your kind words. I’m really impressed that you saw beyond the obvious, it means a lot to me that you are seeing it the way I did.
